Epsilos is one of several good ways to run an online store or a corporate website. This page explains where it fits among the common alternatives and gives you a checklist to decide. The right platform depends on your products, your team and where you sell. Try any shortlist with a demo before committing. ## Global platforms [Section titled “Global platforms”](#global-platforms) | Platform | In short | | --------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | | **Shopify** | The global e-commerce leader, with the largest third-party app ecosystem. Strongest for businesses selling internationally or needing many niche integrations. Managed / hosted; subscription plus transaction fees unless you use its own payments. | | **Wix** | A global website builder with e-commerce add-ons. Strong for content and marketing sites; lighter for large or complex catalogs. Managed / hosted. | | **WooCommerce** | An open-source plugin for WordPress. Maximum flexibility and no platform lock-in, but **self-hosted**: you (or an agency) manage hosting, updates, security and backups. | ## Regional platforms [Section titled “Regional platforms”](#regional-platforms) | Platform | In short | | ------------ | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | | **İkas** | A managed e-commerce platform with a modern admin and a growing feature set, focused on online retail. | | **İdeasoft** | An established e-commerce platform with a deep retail feature set, a dedicated e-export offering, a first-party add-on marketplace and a long track record. | ## Feature comparison [Section titled “Feature comparison”](#feature-comparison) | Feature | Epsilos | Shopify | Wix | WooCommerce | İkas | İdeasoft | | ---------------------------------------------------------------- | ------- | ------- | --- | ----------- | ---- | -------- | | Open-source code | ✗ | ✗ | ✗ | ✓ | ✗ | ✗ | | Managed hosting included | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ | ✗ | ✓ | ✓ | | Self-hosting on your own infrastructure | ✓ | ✗ | ✗ | ✓ | ✗ | ✗ | | Multi-tenant SaaS architecture | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ | ✗ | ✓ | ✓ | | Automated self-install (wizard / partner panel) | ✓ | ✗ | ✗ | \~ | ✗ | ✗ | | Live visual page builder | ✓ | \~ | ✓ | \~ | \~ | \~ | | Theme customization / custom design | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ | | White-label (remove platform branding) | ✓ | \~ | \~ | ✓ | \~ | \~ | | Store **and** corporate / CMS site in one | ✓ | \~ | ✓ | ✓ | \~ | \~ | | Multi-language & multi-currency | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ | \~ | ✓ | ✓ | | Cross-border / export commerce | ✓ | ✓ | \~ | \~ | ✓ | ✓ | | B2B / wholesale | ✓ | \~ | \~ | \~ | ✓ | ✓ | | Add-on / theme marketplace | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ | \~ | ✓ | | Open ecosystem (third parties publish and sell add-ons / themes) | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ | \~ | ✗ | Legend: **✓** included  ·  **\~** partial, via add-ons, or on higher tiers  ·  **✗** not available ## Where Epsilos fits [Section titled “Where Epsilos fits”](#where-epsilos-fits) * **Managed *or* self-hosted.** Run it fully managed by Epsilos, or on partner data centers or your own servers through the licence system. Few platforms give you both. * **One platform for a store *and* a corporate site.** Same panel, same themes, no second system to run. * **Visual, live page design.** Build pages by drag-and-drop directly on the site with 35+ modules, rather than filling a fixed template. * **Global from the start.** Multi-language, multi-currency, live exchange rates and regional payment gateways for cross-border and export commerce. * **B2B and wholesale** built in, alongside B2C. * **Vertical modules.** Hotel booking, real-estate listings, QR menu, e-invoicing and more through the [add-on marketplace](https://market.epsilos.com). * **Open ecosystem.** Independent designers and developers can publish and sell themes and add-ons, and resellers can build a business on top of Epsilos. Some regional platforms keep their add-on marketplace first-party only. ## Where another platform may fit better [Section titled “Where another platform may fit better”](#where-another-platform-may-fit-better) * **You need an open-source core.** Code you can run without a licence and modify or redistribute freely. Epsilos is a commercial, licensed platform; for that requirement, WooCommerce or another open-source stack is the right choice. Cross-border selling is **not** a reason to look elsewhere: Epsilos already supports multi-language, multi-currency and global payment options, and it can also run on your own infrastructure. ## How to choose: a checklist [Section titled “How to choose: a checklist”](#how-to-choose-a-checklist) 1. **Scope:** only a store, only a site, or both? 2. **Where you sell:** one market, or many markets and currencies? 3. **Design control:** template-based, or hands-on visual layout? 4. **Catalog:** simple, or many variants and bulk import? 5. **Hosting:** fully managed, self-hosted, or partner-hosted? 6. **Model:** B2C, B2B, or both? 7. **Special needs:** a vertical module (hotel, real estate, restaurant)? 8. **Total cost:** subscription + payment fees + any add-ons. Shortlist two or three, then run a demo of each with your own products. ## Try Epsilos [Section titled “Try Epsilos”](#try-epsilos) [Open a free demo](https://www.epsilos.com), including a personalised presentation from the Epsilos team. > This page is produced by Epsilos. The comparison reflects Epsilos’s reading of publicly available information and each platform’s standard offering; capabilities change and vary by plan, so verify current details with each vendor. # Frequently asked questions > The most common questions about Epsilos: hosting, domains, data ownership, payments, support and more. ## Is Epsilos a SaaS platform? [Section titled “Is Epsilos a SaaS platform?”](#is-epsilos-a-saas-platform) Yes. With the standard e-commerce and ready website packages, Epsilos is a fully managed service: hosting, servers, updates and backups are on Epsilos; you manage your store and content from a browser-based panel. ## Can I install it on my own server? [Section titled “Can I install it on my own server?”](#can-i-install-it-on-my-own-server) The standard packages do not include installation on your own server; Epsilos handles hosting. Different models exist for enterprise and reseller scenarios: contact the sales team. ## Can I use my own domain? [Section titled “Can I use my own domain?”](#can-i-use-my-own-domain) Yes. You can connect your existing domain or register a new one through Epsilos. ## Do I own my data? [Section titled “Do I own my data?”](#do-i-own-my-data) Yes. Your content and data are yours and can be exported under the terms of your contract. ## Does my site depend on Epsilos being online? [Section titled “Does my site depend on Epsilos being online?”](#does-my-site-depend-on-epsilos-being-online) No. Your licence is validated locally on your own site: the licence key it holds is checked with a cryptographic signature, without contacting Epsilos on each request. If Epsilos’s infrastructure were unreachable, your site keeps running. With the managed packages hosting is on Epsilos anyway; this matters most when you run Epsilos on your own or a partner’s infrastructure. ## Can my licence be used on another site? [Section titled “Can my licence be used on another site?”](#can-my-licence-be-used-on-another-site) No. Your packages and add-ons are licensed to your domain. A licence key issued for one installation will not activate on a different domain, so your setup cannot be copied or resold. ## Does the licence expire? [Section titled “Does the licence expire?”](#does-the-licence-expire) A licence has a term and continues by renewal, like a subscription. With the managed packages Epsilos handles renewal; if you self-host, you enter the renewed licence key in the panel. ## Which payment methods are supported? [Section titled “Which payment methods are supported?”](#which-payment-methods-are-supported) Standard card schemes (Visa, Mastercard, American Express) plus regional payment gateways with installment support, and multi-currency pricing with live exchange rates. Available gateways depend on the markets you sell in. ## Do I need technical knowledge? [Section titled “Do I need technical knowledge?”](#do-i-need-technical-knowledge) No. All management is done from a visual panel. Pages are built with a drag-and-drop designer, no coding required. ## Can I change the theme later? [Section titled “Can I change the theme later?”](#can-i-change-the-theme-later) Yes. The active theme is switched instantly from the panel; your content and data are not affected. ## Can I try it first? [Section titled “Can I try it first?”](#can-i-try-it-first) Yes. You can open a free demo account and get a personalised presentation from the Epsilos team: [epsilos.com](https://www.epsilos.com). ## How is support provided? [Section titled “How is support provided?”](#how-is-support-provided) Email support () with a response time within 12 hours, plus live chat during business hours. Every account also gets a personalised onboarding presentation. # AI tools > In Epsilos, AI is not a chat box bolted onto the panel: the tools are built into the admin workflow. An agentic AI editor in the admin bar, content and SEO tools, and a multi-provider backend. In Epsilos, AI is not a chat box stuck in the corner of the panel. The AI tools are built into the admin workflow and, where it matters most, they work **agentically**: they don’t just suggest text, they do the work. ## The AI editor in the admin bar (agentic) [Section titled “The AI editor in the admin bar (agentic)”](#the-ai-editor-in-the-admin-bar-agentic) Opened from the live editor bar, the AI editor **designs the front-end from your prompt and writes the result into the page’s header, footer and content areas itself**, no manual copy-paste. * **Works with tools:** it reads the page’s zones, edits them, and writes to the theme CSS when needed. * **Efficient by design:** the context that builds up from the first message (system instructions, page content, earlier steps) is **cached**, so each turn does not reprocess everything and pays only for what is new. Small changes use targeted text replacement instead of regenerating the whole page, and the agent does not re-read a zone it already wrote in the same session. Per-turn cost stays low and predictable. * **Two modes:** a *Design* mode for structural changes, a *Content* mode for text only. Content mode redirects you to Design mode when a request is structural. * **Draft → preview → publish:** every change accumulates in a draft first, is previewed with the real theme render, and is published on your approval. * **Version history:** every publish is recorded in the content history tagged “AI Editor”; you can roll back at any time. * **You stay in control:** a run shows live progress and can be stopped at any moment (an interrupted turn is never written to the site). Each turn shows an estimated token count and cost. ## Content and SEO tools [Section titled “Content and SEO tools”](#content-and-seo-tools) From the admin panel: * Product and page description generation * SEO title / description / keyword copy (with instructions specific to your business model) * Competitor analysis * Variant generation assistance ## Storefront AI assistant [Section titled “Storefront AI assistant”](#storefront-ai-assistant) Optionally, an AI assistant that helps visitors on the storefront can be enabled. ## Multi-provider backend [Section titled “Multi-provider backend”](#multi-provider-backend) Epsilos is not tied to a single AI provider. Gemini, OpenAI, Anthropic (Claude), Grok and Groq are supported; which tool uses which model is managed from settings. The agentic editor runs on Claude (Sonnet by default; Fable and Opus are also available). ## Purpose [Section titled “Purpose”](#purpose) AI’s job here is to remove repetitive work, not to replace the person. That is why every generation is **draft first**, then **approval**, then **reversible**. Cost is shown openly and the [changelog](/changelog) is public. The AI works with Epsilos’s **modernized architecture** (see [What is Epsilos?](/getting-started/what-is-epsilos)): CSS it produces is written to the theme as marked blocks, so the file does not bloat. # Cross-border and e-export > Sell internationally from one Epsilos store: multi-language, multi-currency, regional payment gateways, country and region settings, regional shipping and regional tax. Works for B2C and B2B. Epsilos e-commerce packages include what is needed to sell across borders from a single store. There is no separate “export” edition. ## What is included [Section titled “What is included”](#what-is-included) * **Multi-language storefront and checkout.** Content, product data and the checkout flow per language, with automatic redirect by browser language and right-to-left (RTL) support. * **Multi-currency pricing.** Prices shown and charged in the visitor’s currency with live exchange rates, or fixed per-market prices you set. * **Regional payment gateways.** Connect the payment methods that matter in each market you sell to. * **Country and region settings.** Control which countries you sell to and vary behaviour by region. * **Regional shipping.** Carrier options and rates per destination. * **Regional tax.** Tax rules and rates by country or region. ## B2C and B2B [Section titled “B2C and B2B”](#b2c-and-b2b) All of the above works the same for a **B2B storefront**: dealer and wholesale pricing, per-market currencies and payment methods, and region-specific catalogs. ## See also [Section titled “See also”](#see-also) * [E-commerce features](/features/ecommerce) * [Comparison](/comparison/epsilos-vs-alternatives) # E-commerce features > The full e-commerce feature set of Epsilos: product management, payments, marketplaces, shipping, marketing, SEO, analytics, AI tools and integrations. Real Core Web Vitals and Lighthouse data. Epsilos sites are built to load fast. The storefront is server-rendered for a quick first paint, static assets are served from a global CDN, images are optimized automatically, and pages are cached at the edge and in the application. ## Real data: epsilos.com.tr [Section titled “Real data: epsilos.com.tr”](#real-data-epsiloscomtr) epsilos.com.tr is itself built on the Epsilos platform (corporate website theme). [PageSpeed Insights](https://pagespeed.web.dev/), desktop: | Category | Score | | ---------------- | ------------- | | Performance | **97** / 100 | | Accessibility | **95** / 100 | | Best Practices | **100** / 100 | | SEO | **100** / 100 | | Agentic browsing | **3** / 3 | **Core Web Vitals, field data (real Chrome users), desktop: passing** | Metric | Value | Threshold | | ------------------------------- | ----- | --------- | | Largest Contentful Paint (LCP) | 0.8 s | < 2.5 s | | Interaction to Next Paint (INP) | 38 ms | < 200 ms | | Cumulative Layout Shift (CLS) | 0 | < 0.1 | Lab metrics (desktop): First Contentful Paint 0.8 s · Largest Contentful Paint 0.9 s · Total Blocking Time 100 ms · Cumulative Layout Shift 0.013 · Speed Index 1.1 s. ![PageSpeed Insights report for epsilos.com.tr on desktop: Performance 97, Accessibility 95, Best Practices 100, SEO 100, Agentic Browsing 3/3](/img/pagespeed-epsilos-com-tr.png) ## What makes Epsilos sites fast [Section titled “What makes Epsilos sites fast”](#what-makes-epsilos-sites-fast) * **Server-rendered storefront.** HTML is rendered on the server, so the first paint does not wait for JavaScript. * **Global CDN.** CSS, JavaScript, fonts and images are served from edge locations close to the visitor. * **Automatic image optimization.** Uploaded images are resized and re-encoded; each layout slot requests the size it needs. * **Page and fragment caching.** Resolved pages and reusable sections are cached, so most requests skip database work. * **Lean front-end.** The storefront ships minimal JavaScript; interactive parts are enhanced progressively. ## Why the score is not 100 [Section titled “Why the score is not 100”](#why-the-score-is-not-100) PageSpeed usually flags a few **render-blocking CSS and JavaScript requests**. The score can be pushed higher by merging every stylesheet and script into a single file, or inlining them into the page, and a site owner who wants that can do it at any time through the custom code slots. Epsilos does not do this by default, on purpose. Keeping styles and scripts as separate, editable files is what makes everyday customization quick; consolidating everything trades a few milliseconds for slower edits on every future change. A score in the mid-to-high 90s with passing Core Web Vitals is already an excellent result for real users, so chasing a perfect 100 is rarely a worthwhile effort. ## Measure it yourself [Section titled “Measure it yourself”](#measure-it-yourself) Run [PageSpeed Insights](https://pagespeed.web.dev/) on any Epsilos site: a [demo store](https://www.epsilos.com.tr/installer) or epsilos.com.tr, or run Lighthouse from Chrome DevTools. > Scores reflect a specific page, device and network at measurement time and will vary. Core Web Vitals field data needs enough real Chrome traffic to appear; on lower-traffic pages PageSpeed falls back to origin-level data. # Website features > The full feature set of Epsilos ready website packages: visual page builder, blog, themes, SEO, multi-language, AI tools and integrations. You don’t install anything on your own server and you don’t need a DevOps team. Different models exist for reseller and custom enterprise scenarios; for those, see the [partner program](/partners/overview) or contact the sales team. # What is Epsilos? > Epsilos is a managed platform that provides businesses with e-commerce stores and ready websites. Hosting and infrastructure are handled by Epsilos; management happens in a browser-based admin panel. Epsilos ([epsilos.com](https://www.epsilos.com)) provides businesses of every size with **e-commerce stores** and **ready websites**. A client subscribes to a package, gets a ready-to-use site, and manages everything from an admin panel, no technical background required. It sits in the same category as Shopify, WooCommerce and Wix-based stores: the client can build and run the store or site through the browser, and the Epsilos team can also handle setup on request at no extra charge. Epsilos is more than an e-commerce provider: it is an **ecosystem**. Developers, designers, digital agencies and hosting providers can serve their own clients on top of Epsilos as partners. They can also offer their products and services (theme development, hosting and more) to every Epsilos user through the **Epsilos Market** and earn revenue from them. Epsilos serves e-commerce at every scale. For large businesses with **high-capacity** needs it offers dedicated solutions and comprehensive development packages: **B2C** storefronts alongside **high-traffic** e-commerce packages, **B2B** systems and **cross-border / e-export** solutions. **Hosting is flexible.** By default Epsilos runs the infrastructure on its own servers as a managed service: nothing for the client to set up or maintain, with updates and backups handled by Epsilos. When you need more control, the same platform can run on partner data centers, another hosting provider or your own servers. The **Epsilos licence system** lets you run Epsilos on your own infrastructure. This is more flexibility and control than most e-commerce software vendors offer. Epsilos keeps pace with evolving software technology and publishes updates from the Epsilos panel, showing customers concrete information about the platform openly. The [changelog](/changelog) is public. ## Two product lines, one platform [Section titled “Two product lines, one platform”](#two-product-lines-one-platform) ### E-commerce packages [Section titled “E-commerce packages”](#e-commerce-packages) Epsilos offers professional e-commerce packages for many sectors, from general product catalogs to those needing custom modules: B2C, B2B, cross-border, marketplace integrations, ERP and e-document integrations, a mobile app, UX tools and digital marketing services. It covers everything from low-volume stores to high-traffic e-commerce portals. Custom modules are built per client request for sector-specific needs. Thanks to Epsilos’s architecture these are designed as **isolated modules**: each coded component is kept isolated in the codebase and included in the project build only when needed. So no store owner carries the weight of code they don’t use. This **isolated-module design** keeps bugs to a minimum and makes updates and maintenance easier; the result is faster, leaner e-commerce software with no stale-code burden. ### Ready website packages [Section titled “Ready website packages”](#ready-website-packages) Ready-to-use website packages for businesses that want a corporate or showcase site without a store. Drag-and-drop design tools, one-click live-editor editing, blog, contact forms, multi-language support, SEO, UX tools and theme designs suited to your business model. ### Concept design [Section titled “Concept design”](#concept-design) For clients who want an original, purpose-built design, Epsilos produces a brand-specific theme and delivers it on the same platform, integrated into Epsilos. ## Signature feature: the visual page builder [Section titled “Signature feature: the visual page builder”](#signature-feature-the-visual-page-builder) Epsilos’s signature feature is a **drag-and-drop layout designer** that works directly on the live site view. Pages are built with a 4-level nested grid: **Grid → Row → Column → Module**, styled with 35+ ready-made modules. Each module has its own settings panel opened via a gear icon on the live canvas. No coding required. You can edit your content the fastest, easiest way through neat inline panels, without even entering the admin panel. ## Themes and sectors [Section titled “Themes and sectors”](#themes-and-sectors) Epsilos ships responsive themes and modules tuned for **30+ sectors**: textile and apparel, electronics, furniture and home, food and grocery, cosmetics, automotive parts, jewelry and accessories, sporting goods, books and stationery, B2B wholesale and more. The active theme is switched from the panel without touching content or data. ## System architecture [Section titled “System architecture”](#system-architecture) Epsilos has built high-performance solutions on current software architectures since 2019. The current generation, **v3 “Nova”**, is a full modernization of the platform on a current stack. It is a multi-tenant platform, available as a SaaS service or deployed on your own infrastructure: * **Backend:** ASP.NET Core (.NET) with Entity Framework Core as the data layer. * **Database:** PostgreSQL (primary), with SQL Server also supported. * **Admin panel:** a React 19 single-page application (Vite, MUI) talking to a JSON API. * **Storefront:** server-rendered for SEO and fast first load, progressively enhanced with JavaScript. * **Multi-tenancy:** every store runs with its **own isolated database and application pool**: tenant data is separated by design, not by a filter column. * **Deployment:** run fully managed by Epsilos, or on partner data centers or your own servers. The licence system enables self-hosted and partner-hosted installations. * **Delivery:** static assets served from a CDN; themes and settings resolved at runtime so changes apply without redeploying. * **Operations:** in the managed model, Epsilos handles hosting, scaling, security patching, monitoring and backups. ## Next steps [Section titled “Next steps”](#next-steps) * [Who is it for?](/getting-started/who-is-it-for) * [How it works](/getting-started/how-it-works) * [Full feature list](/features/overview) # Who is it for? > Epsilos serves businesses of every size, from a first online store to high-volume, multi-store operations, that want a managed platform without giving up control. Epsilos is built for businesses that want to sell online or run a corporate website on a platform that scales with them: **from a first store to a high-volume, multi-store operation.** ## A good fit [Section titled “A good fit”](#a-good-fit) * **Businesses of every size.** A shop launching its first store, a growing brand, or an established company running high-traffic, multi-store, multi-market commerce on the same platform. * **Non-technical owners** who want a managed service and a single visual panel, with no servers or updates to handle. * **Teams that want control.** Epsilos can also run on partner data centers or your own infrastructure through the licence system, so hosting and data location stay in your hands when that matters. * **Companies that need both** a store and a corporate / showcase site from one panel. * **Multi-market sellers.** Multi-currency, multi-language, regional payment gateways and installment options. * **30+ sectors.** Textile, electronics, furniture, food, cosmetics, accessories, B2B wholesale and more. * **Teams that want to launch fast.** Ready themes and modules, live in days. ## Probably not a fit [Section titled “Probably not a fit”](#probably-not-a-fit) * **Teams that specifically need an open-source platform** they can freely modify and redistribute. Epsilos is a commercial platform; source-code access can be arranged in specific cases, but that is the exception, not the model. ## Not sure?
